Corrupt is Corrupt

The Scene: He lays $250,000 dollars on a table and walks out the room. This "gentlemen" knows that he has just made 5 times that amount by purchasing a government official's protection. This "gentlemen" is a crude individual representing a company with a horrible reputation. He provides a substance that has killed in his community for decades, yet he pursues his activities at-will simply because he can afford to pay an official.

Can you pick the person below that I speak of in the scene(above)?

The man that I speak of sold drugs in his community(with the aid of city officials) for 20 years until the FBI had the guts to raid his home in 1997.

The man that I speak of is an employee of Philip Morris and is also one of the top lobbyist in the country.

Why is it okay for our government officials to legally interact with people who are essentially on the same level as drug-pushers? We have to fix our government because it is no longer in the hands of the people. You can't place a kid in the candy store and expect him/her not to eat candy until his/her teeth falls out. That is what we do with our government officials though, is that okay?

I realize that I'm fighting a losing battle trying to convince anyone that we should redefine the roles of our government officials. This is my point though. Corruption has been one of the leading factors to our current financial dilemma.(I beg someone to differ) Some even say that corruption led to 9/11. Why else would we go after some country that had nothing to do with the act?(again, I beg someone to differ.) Bin Laden is from Saudi Arabia, why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia? My guess is that we didn't want to lose the 2-4 million barrels of oil per year that we would lose if we invaded Saudi Arabia.

Our government officials are corrupt as hell. We can't look at the Taliban and say anything when corrupt government officials in the United States offer us more harm than the Taliban. The sad thing is that we'll never be able to change anything because of dumb-ass political affiliations. We'll never be able to change the rules of our government officials because no one will agree on anything and I,for one, don't think that this is a coincidence. Corrupt is corrupt and we will all continue to get duped by democrats and republicans until we do something. The question is when will we do something America?
